Oven Beef Stew

"Not sure where this came from but I make it a few times a year. It goes together so quickly and the cheddar cheese really adds to the flavor."

• Serves: 4

ingredients

• 1 lb beef stew meat
• 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
• 1 (10 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
• 1 (1 ounce) package onion soup mix
• 1 1⁄4 cups water
• 4 potatoes, cubed
• 2 carrots, diced
• 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

directions

1. Brown meat in oil in skillet. Transfer to a 2 quart casserole.
2. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over meat.
3. Bake for 2-1/2 hours at 350.
