ingredients

• 1 (12 ounce) bottle beer (bottle)
• 1⁄2 cup vinegar
• 4 lemons, juice of
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 tablespoon sugar
• 1⁄2 cup tomato paste or 1/2 cup ketchup
• hot sauce

directions

1. cook slowly for 1/2 hour with tablespoon of butter.

I'm from Michigan there is none better than Open Pit. Original others have there opinion but mine is Open Pit.

Not even close, don't waste your time. A beer? Come on. The ingredients of the real stuff are on the bottle. The number one ingredient is high fructose corn syrup which is 1.2 X as sweet as sugar. There is no lemon juice. Not even close on the sugar/sweetness or thickness.

I try and not give any negative reviews as I know peoples taste vary, but when it comes to somthing as a copy cat recipe it should taste close. This was no where near close, in fact it was not usable. Thanks for trying though, I'm down south and can not find this stuff anywhere so I was hoping. Guess we'll just have to keep looking
