This recipe is from Grandma B. I am especially amused when I take it to a pot luck and people think I bought it because I can top it with the neat cover the ready-made crust comes with! Very easy! Be sure to chill well for a firm cheesecake.

  • Blend cream cheese and sugar.
  • Fold in frozen dessert topping.
  • Press into graham cracker crust, spreading cream cheese mixture up sides.
  • Bottom will be covered and there will be a ring of cream cheese mixture about 1 inch wide around pie.
  • Pour cherry pie filling into center.
  • Chill at least 3 hours.

    From the phot, it looks as though this was made in a deep dish pie pan (maybe a spring form pan) but the instructions make it sound like a regular size graham cracker pie crust was used. Which is it?

    I have a similar recipe that I make..I put a can of sweetened condensed milk with the other ingredients except sugar..mix well then add 1/3 cup of lemon juice and mix..put in pie crust then add your topping. .sometimes I use blueberry. .then refrigerate. .Very delicious

    You have to beat the cream cheese, sugar, and cool whip with an electric mixer. You can't get it smooth and creamy if you don't.

    I omitted the cool whip and sugar and beat in a can of sweetened condensed milk, vanilla and lemon juice with the cream cheese. It was wonderful!!
