Nanny's Chocolate Pie

"This is one of the many recipes from my grandmothers cookbook. She passed away in May of 2005 and I am recording her wonderful recipes for my family and the many generations that will follow. • Yields: 1 pie
• Serves: 8

ingredients

• 1 cup sugar
• 2 tablespoons cocoa
• 1 tablespoon cornstarch
• 2 tablespoons flour
• 1⁄8 teaspoon salt
• 3 cups milk
• 3 egg yolks
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 teaspoon butter
• 1 baked pie crust

directions

1. Mix sugar, cocoa,cornstarch,flour, salt milk & egg yolks in the blender.
2. Pour into a heavy pot and cook over medium heat until thick.
3. Add the butter and vanilla.
4. Pour into a baked crust.
5. Top with your favorite meringue and bake until the meringue is golden on the edges.
