Mrs. Truman's Martian Cookies

"These are like a granola cookie that I got from an client of mine years ago. She named them that because her grandson used to say when she used the fork that it looked like mars. One of the treasure troves of reicpes that I ever had the privlage of sharing. They are a nice rich simple cookie good comfort food."

  • Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl. Dissolve baking soda in water cream together butter and sugar, add vanilla, then add water and flour alternating. Make into small balls. On cookie sheet Press flat with fork dipped in milk. cook for 7-9 minutes. till just turning brown on edges.
