  1. I usually make chili that's a bit harsh for most tastes, but frequently I have to make something for the whole family. I tried this recipe and it is absolutely delicious. Just a hint of heat, but a whole lot of flavor. Everyone, young and old, absolutely gobbled it up! Thickening it with the blended beans is a great idea. Well done, mom!

  2. Thanks for the recipe! I do find it a bit 'beany' for my taste. I have never made beans into a paste to thicken chili. That may be what I am tasting. Overall, it has an excellent flavor!! This is a great base recipe for those who want to build their own chili recipe!

Tweaks

  1. Another delicious and a bit healthier way to do this recipe: Substitute 93% lean ground turkey for the beef. Instead of water, use beef broth. Add a diced green pepper, and skip the flour. Also I highly recommend Muir Glen's fire roasted diced tomato- adds great flavor. Yummy!!
