- Place sugar and water in small saucepan.
- Bring to boil.
- Boil just for a couple of minutes, so that all sugar is dissolved and syrup is clear.
- Add Mapleine (extract) to taste (as dark as you want it).
- Store in refrigerator, covered.
- This recipe can be adapted to make any amount of syrup- Just always double your sugar to water, ie 2 cups sugar, 1 cup water.

I love how quick and easy this is to make, and the flavor was surprisingly much better than I expected! This recipe saved me as I was making something that needed maple syrup and realized last minute that I didn't have enough for the recipe. I believe we will continue using this since my husband didn't even notice it wasn't his usual maple syrup the next time he used it ;)
