Cranberry Maple Syrup

"This is wonderful to have on hand during the winter months. Very easy to prepare and makes any waffle, pancake, or slice of french toast extra special. It's from "Creme de Colorado", one of my favorite junior league cookbooks."

  • In medium saucepan, combine juice, cranberries, cinnamon, and cloves, and simmer 15 minutes or until cranberries pop.
  • Add maple syrup, and simmer for an additional five minutes.
  • Serve warm.

  1. not sure at this time by your NUTRITION INFO is incorrect as no one uses 2 cups of syrup on there pancakes at the most 2 T. so you need to correct the nutritional info to reflect serving size to 2 T for the calories.
     
  2. i love this! i had a bunch of whole cranberries left over from thanksgiving and made this but without the apple juice.. i substitute it with applesauce and a bit of water. it was soooooo good!! i also had less maple syrup since my familys not used to sweets. very lovely!
     
  3. Indeed very good to have on hand. I blended it (handblender) for a smoother sauce/syrup. Delicious over ice-cream, pancakes and (that is what I have tried it with so far). Will even try to use in a cake by substituting half of the amount of sugar with this syrup.
