  1. These biscuits were amazing - subbed frozen butter for shortening and did it all in the food processor. Light and fluffy and melt in your mouth wonderful!!

  2. I canot really rate this reciep, since I did not use hand mix them. I use food processor to pluse the ingredients.( not sure if this is why my biscuits fail to be flaky. ( what I am looking for is something like KFC, but not as salty.) I will try to do it by hand next time.

  3. Wonderful creamy tasting biscuits that you can whip up almost as an afterthought. Made as directed except that I pretty much doubled the salt. This is the second time that I've made this recipe and I noted last ti,e that I would add some extra the next time I made them. These would be the ideal base for biscuits and gravy! Can we say "down home"? Made for Photo Tag

  5. Thank gosh I found *THESE* I needed something quick, easy, and oh-so-delicious. I really needed it. You are my bread person to come to, after all, I have made lots of your bread over the past week, past months...etc...etc. Go ahead, look up the author's recipes. I highly, highly recommend them, my turn to person for great bread, quick, and oh so tasty. I made this exactly. Exactly. I wanted to test the baking soda amount per ratio to the rest of the flour/shortening...etc combo. It worked for me perfectly. But as we all know, breads can be a mystery at times. From weather conditions, to flours, to all kinds of variables. Either way, this worked perfectly for us. Made, rolled, in toaster oven, and out right into my DH stomach with a coddie cake in between. Beautiful! Made for *Everyday is a Holiday* July 2009.
