Kc Masterpiece BBQ Sauce - Clone

"I love making my own BBQ sauces and I found this recipe and had to try it. It tastes like the KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce, only better. The good thing is, you can alter it to suit your taste. If you like it sweeter, add more brown sugar. If you like it spicier, add hot sauce or cayenne pepper."

ingredients

• 2 cups water
• 3⁄4 cup light corn syrup
• 1⁄2 cup tomato paste
• 1⁄2 cup white vinegar
• 3 tablespoons molasses
• 3 tablespoons brown sugar
• 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
• 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
• 1⁄4 teaspoon onion powder
• 1⁄4 teaspoon black pepper
• 1⁄8 teaspoon garlic powder

directions

1. Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan and mix well.
2. Over medium-high heat, bring just to a boil.
3. Lower heat and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

Can't review this per se, as I haven't made it yet, but I am going to try using it as a base for my own BBQ Sauce creations. I love making my own, too. Today I needed a base sauce that doesn't involve ketchup. This one fits the bill. Will give it a go and then submit a proper review. Thanks!
