directions

  • Cook noodles according to package directions. Brown ground beef and garlic in butter. Add tomato sauce, salt and pepper and sugar. In separate container, blend ricotta and cream cheese with sour cream, then add onion and green pepper to cheese mixture.
  • In a greased 9x13 casserole ), put half of the cooked noodles, then 1/2 the cheese mixture, then the rest of the noodles and remaining cheese mixture. Top with the ground beef mixture and bake for 20 minutes at 350. Top with cheddar cheese and bake 10 minutes more, or until melted and bubbly.
  • Great served with a tossed salad and some rolls or warm bread sticks.
  • (NOTE: We often split the layers between 2 small casseroles or foil loaf pans. Freezes well, ((thaw and then heat according to directions) or one to keep and one to give away!).

  1. This recipe was exactly what I was looking for. I had it at someone's house a long time ago and can't find the recipe. I think next time I may use wider egg noodles and increase the tomato sauce a little, but it was yummy! Husband and kids gobbled it up.

  2. Wow! This was sure a hit with the man of the house! In fact, he reminds me how much he loves it every other day. I have created a monster with this recipe. Thanks!

I Love Good Food! And enjoy cooking good meals for friends and family. Learned from both my mom and dad, who were equally skilled in the kitchen -- although my dad has always been the one that can take some ingredients and make up something spectacular.
