Emaw's Chili Pie

Emaw's Chili Pie created by riffraff

Emaw is my Momma and this is her recipe. She is very specific in her instructions and she guarantees (if you do what she says, lol) a family pleasing dish. Great flavor and great on a cold night.

This was super good. Took this to a cookout instead of chili and it was a real hit with my friends. Some had never heard of chili pie, but they all enjoyed it.I used homemade chili, this was very easy to put together and very filling for sure.

That Emaw knows her stuff!! She made some Texans very happy. My mother use to make this while we were growing up in Fort Worth. All of the flavors really do taste so good together. I made this just like Emaw said and we were lovin' every bite. Thanks for sharing her wonderful recipe, riff!! :-)

Hi Riffraff,I make sonic chili pie all the time.but never thought to put onions and tomatoes on it,WOW did that ever dress it up.Loved the taste of the sweet onions on it.and liked the tomatoes too.I didn't use the water, so it was not soaked up.just crispy. Thanks,Darlene

This easy casserole reminded us of tamales. The tomatoes on top added a nice flavor. My husband said he was going to use the casserole for a burrito filling because he thought it would taste great. Thanks riffraff.
