- 3⁄4 cup low-fat milk
- 1⁄2 cup poppy seed
- 1⁄2 cup applesauce
- 3⁄4 cup caster sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 3⁄4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1⁄4 cup lemon juice
- 1 lemon, rind of
directions
- Heat milk, add poppy seeds and remove from heat.
- Beat together apple puree, sugar and eggs.
- Sift dry ingredients and stir into apple mix.
- Add milk and poppy seeds, lemon juice and rind.
- Cook at 180 (degrees c) for approx 1 hour.
