1. My mom made these when we were kids they are tops, if the don't stay together for you tho less peanut butter and a cool place works very well

 2. My family has made these since the 60s and we love them. But we use only 1/2 cup peanut butter. They may be crumbly, but they do hold together. Microwave 1 minute. Stir. Then 15 more seconds. Stir to smooth. We don’t add the chocolate topping, but that sounds good too.

 3. I've made these once with my mom and she's done it since I was young. 2 Things: 1) No microwave. As I can attest to this is an easy way to burn the peanut butter. 2) These must be placed in the fridge as soon as their done. Just letting them cool with cause them to fall apart as people have said.

 4. This recipe is perfect! I have made there many times over 40 years, but could not remember how much peanut butter to put in.Every recipe I found said to add marshmallows, corn syrup, and or sugar. They are very sweet without that and if I wanted that gooey consistency, I would make Rice Krispie Treats,

 5. I agree with the other reviewer...these did not stick together at all. Sorry, but there must be something wrong here.

Tweaks

 1. Missing a step at the end. You need to lightly press down with spatula or spoon, into pan, cover and refrigerate I have never had these fall apart. Will also add another step after they cool. Melt 3 to 4 tablespoons of butter and 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips in a bowl in microwave. stir every 30 seconds. Mix and pour onto cookies, cool and cut for the ultimate treat!

I couldn't cook when I married my husband, but I am trying to learn now for his sake. He thinks I'm doing a great job--he's so sweet. :) RecipeZaar has been a huge help! I haven't posted many recipes since most of the ones I've made I found here. I have just graduated with a B.S. in mechanical engineering, and now I hope to have a lot more time to experiment in the kitchen.
