Very nice! A little "bite" from the peppercorns, and loved the addition of cardamom! Recipe doesn't say what size bottle, and I assume for 6-8 servings it would be the large (gallon (3 liter))size. I used a 750 ml size and cut everything in half. I also cut the sugar down to a fourth, since we don't like it too sweet. A nice "Boxing Day" warmer-upper! Made for Let's P-A-R-T-Y! After a bit of disappointment with last year's hot wine attempt, I was wary of wasting another bottle of red -- but this was delicious! I halved it and followed the directions to the letter -- though I wasn't entirely sure whether the wine was meant to boil before turning down to simmer, or if it was just supposed to steam for 15 minutes just below a boil. My batch was slowly brought to JUST under a boil by the time I decided I couldn't wait anymore and it tasted great. In retrospect, I would say just warm it on medium-low heat til that sweet citrusy flavour steeps in.

Me and my boyfriend have been together for 11 years now. We live on 40 acres and have 6 dogs and 4 Tennessee Walkers. We both work a lot of hours so there is never enough time in a day to get everything done. I absolutely love the outdoors. I also enjoy lifting weights, reading and playing with all of my beautiful animals. I absolutely love, love and love to cook. I like to cook a variety of things and also like love to bake. I like to just get in the kitchen and experiment with different things. If something does not turn out for me such as pie crust or gravy I will keep trying until I can make it work. Only problem is, when I finally make it work it may not work again the time after that. It is fun though and I do consider myself a pretty good cook for the most part. I also love slow cooker recipes. Those are my most favorite in the winter months.
