Western Casserole (Oamc)

"This is the easiest dish in the west to make! I buy my ground beef in bulk, then mix in seasonings before I freeze it- so I've always got seasoned ground beef ready to go for this recipe. This is great either with chips, as a casserole, or searved in tortillas. I always top mine with sour cream. Perfect for football parties. For my OAMC I just put all the ingredients expect the extra 1/2 cup cheese in a 1 gallon zip-loc bag, squish to mix, and freeze."

  1. This is wonderful. Will definitely make again. Love OAMC. It save me tons of time every week. Keep the good recipes coming!!

  2. I made this meal in advance before having my baby and it was so delicious after being frozen! We put it in tortillas and even dipped with chips. It is just me and my husband and we had leftovers for lunch the next day. I used rinsed, drained black beans instead of ranch style beans.

  3. What a great find. I doubled the recipe and my husband took it to work to share. The guys loved it! It's a great hit at our house...and his work. Thanks for sharing!

  4. This was GREAT! I served it to my husband in tortilla shells as burritos. He Loved it. We will be making this again.

  5. My son said,"this certainly was a good idea". I made it with turkey and used refried beans and homemade taco seasoning. Served it with tortilla chips and sour cream. It was WONDERFUL! I am going to freeze two more for future use. I had to make the changes due to dietary restrictions and I couldn't find ranch style beans. Still 5 stars!

Hello! My name is Carla. I have 5 kids ages 10 and under. I love to cook, sing, paint, bicycle, and play piano. It's hard to squeeze in that many activities anymore though, but I still manage. I grew up in Alabama and learned to cook everything southern. I spent a lot of my childhood and all of my adult life in Colorado, the healtiest state in the nation. I've become a health and fitness fanatic. I'ts a real trick to balance healthy eating and southern cooking. I've learned to make a lot of modifications to make those southern dishes work for us though.
