Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookies

There's almost a day's supply of heart-healthy omega-3's in each of these sweet, chewy cookies! I found this recipe in Woman's World magazine. I have not tried this recipe, but I'm posting it for safe keeping.

In my book this recipe has at least 3 things goin' for it ~ Nuts, chocolate & the fact that it's for cookies! I also enjoyed the inclusion of the whole wheat flour & flax seed meal & would happily have added raisins but wanted to stick to the recipe as given! Great tasting cookies, these, & I'll definitely be making them again! [Made & reviewed in New Kids on the Block tag]

  1. Preheat oven to 325. Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Combine all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, flaxseed meal, soda and salt until blended; reserve. On medium-high speed, beat brown sugar, butter and granulated sugar until smooth. Stir in egg, yolk and vanilla until blended. On low speed, gradually beat in reserved flour mixture until blended.
  2. Stir in chips and walnuts. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls, 2" apart, onto baking sheets; flatten slightly. Bake 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool 1 minute on baking sheets. Transfer to racks; cool.
