amazing butter cookie. I used butter, not margarine. Cooked them until just stared to turn gold on edges, cooled for about 1 minute on cookie sheet, then moved to rack. They were melt in your mouth. They need nothing else-. The second sheet I made I slightly undercooked. Still good but a bit chewy. I am using these-unadorned as part of a bite-sized dessert tray for Christmas eve

Directions

  1. Cream margarine and sugar. Mix in flour, soda and vinegar.
  2. Shape dough into small balls.
  3. Place on greased cookie sheet and flatten with a fork or small wooden mallet.
  4. Bake 8-10 minutes at 350°.
