Tasty Apple Galette

"This is another recipe that I haven't tried yet, but I do love anything with apples, and this is another that sounded so good, it's certainly on the to-do list!!"

  • In a bowl, combine flour and salt; cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle with cold water, 1 tablespoon at a time, and toss with a fork until the dough can be formed into a ball.
  • On a floured surface, roll dough into a 13-inch circle. Place on ungreased 12-inch pizza pan; turn edges under. Sprinkle crust with 2 tablespoons sugar.
  • Beginning at the outside, arrange apples in a circular pattern, overlapping each slice. Make a second circle, facing the opposite direction.
  • Continue alternating directions until crust is covered. Brush apples with butter; sprinkle with remaining sugar.
  • Bake at 400°F for 40-50 minutes, or until the apples are tender and crust is golden. Combine jam with water ; brush over apples , serve warm.

Her sweets are fantastics, especially her pound cakes, Yummm <br> <br>I guess the dish that I am famous for is my Christmas ham - my family all comes home for Christmas, and if i don't have my ham they are dissapointed, and my grandson wants the pistachio squares!!! so I guess that is the dishes that I'm famous for.
