  • Place 1 quart of the fresh whole strawberries into the baked pie crust.
  • Mash the remaining quart of berries.
  • Mix the sugar and cornstarch together and add it to the mashed berries.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil over medium to medium high heat, stirring constantly. Cook until the mixture thickens and clears.
  • Cool mixture slightly.
  • Pour mixture over the strawberries in the pie crust. Chill several hours.
  • Top with whipped cream and serve.
