  1. Scald milk and pour over meal; add cold water.
  2. Mix in sugar, shortening, and beaten egg yolks.
  3. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites just before baking.
  4. Pour into a well-greased, hot baking dish, (about 1 quart).
  5. Bake 40 minutes in a hot oven, 400°F.
