Spicy Baked Pork Steaks

"A great way to prepare cheaper cuts of meat! These pork steaks are tender every time, spicy and good! Toss a couple of potatoes in the oven and bake for 15 minutes or so before adding the pork steaks and you have a great meal the family will think you spent more time on than you did!"

  1. We got a new huge George Foreman at Christmas and I used your recipe of some very nice pork chops, I did not use any BBQ sauce just the rub with of course some coarse garlic salt. Thanks for this recipe, I love new dry rub ideas!

  2. Don't even bother with the barbecue sauce in this recipe, as the rub is OUTSTANDING by itself!!! I changed 2 things with the rub so the meat would not be salty. I used garlic and onion powders instead of the garlic and onion salt that the recipe said to use. Maybe the 1 teaspoon garlic was fresh, but I was not sure, so I used garlic powder. The steaks turned out perfect, tender and what flavor from the rub!! Thank you for posting, I'll be making this again.! Made for *Zaar Chef Alphabet Soup 2009* game

  3. Other than cutting this recipe down to two servings I made this as written. The barbeque sauce I used was Sweet Baby Ray's Sweet n Spicy. The recipe was easy to put together and the results were delicious. I will definitely make this again. Thanks for sharing.

  4. Very good, but my pork steaks were a little on the thin side, so they the steaks ended up being a little over-cooked. I do intend to make this again...Yummy!, However, next time I'll take thickness into account and adjust time and temp accordingly. Served this with a brown basmati rice cooked in watered down juice from canned diced tomatoes, the tomatoes too of course and fresh basil. I'll also cut down on the salt as my wife and I are both supposed to monitor our salt intake.

  5. I tried it and it was delish!!! I omitted the salt and used the BBQ. It's a keeper. Thanks for posting.

  1. YUMMY! Loved the rub on this. I use garlic and onion powders instead of the salt. We're trying to cut back on salt. I didn't even use the barbecue sauce. This will be my go to rub. I'm going to try it on chicken next. (I'm making this again tonight) Made for I Recommend Zaar Tag Game 2010.
