- 118.29 ml shortening
- 236.59 ml sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 236.59 ml all-purpose flour, sifted
- 4.92 ml baking powder
- 2.46 ml baking soda
- 2.46 ml salt
- 14.79 ml cocoa powder
- 4.92 ml cinnamon
- 2.46 ml nutmeg
- 2.46 ml ground cloves
- 236.59 ml rolled oats
- 354.88 ml apples, peeled and diced
- 118.29 ml walnuts, chopped (optional)
- confectioners' sugar
directions
- Pre-heat oven to 375°F.
- Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs.
- Sift together dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Stir in rest of ingredients.
- Spread into greased 11x16x1-inch or 9x13-inch pan. Bake for 25 minutes.
- Cool and cut into squares. Sprinkle with confectioner’s sugar.
