directions

  • Make small slits in the tenderloin and insert the garlic slivers; set aside.
  • In a large bowl, (or a Reynolds turkey oven bag for easy clean-up and marinating) combine all of the remaining ingredients; mix well.
  • Add tenderloin, cover and marinate OVERNIGHT.
  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  • Coat a roasting pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Remove the meat from the marinade and place on a rack like broiler pan.
  • Folding the ends under roast so tenderloin is of uniform size.
  • Discard the marinade.
  • Roast the tenderloin for 45-55 minutes for medium- rare or to desired doneness.
  • Allow to sit for 15 minutes before slicing crosswise to serve.
  • Serve with red wine sauce or a bearnaise sauce.
  • (I purchase the tenderloin at Sam's Club. The quality is great and is as much as$10 off a pound).

  1. I made this for Christmas Dinner, my Dad only "thrives" on meat and I'm always looking to impress him, this knocked his socks off, it will be my Christmas dinner for along time to come. 5 star restaurant good!!

  2. I made this for Christmas Dinner, and it was the Star of the Show!! Even the "non meat eaters" had seconds!! I'm going to make it again this week with a smaller beef tenderloin. It cooked much faster than the recipe stated, so keep an eye on it, and take it out early if it looks done!! I served this with home made rolls, fresh salad, roasted veggies, and hot pumpkin pies! YUMMY!!

  3. Made this twice now. Once for Christmas dinner. LOVE IT!! Thanks for sharing!

  4. I have served this for Christmas dinner for the past several years. The only changes I make are to marinate for at least three days, and to cook it on the grill.

  5. This was the first time I had prepared a beef tenderloin whole, and it was a tremendous success! It will be a favorite "staple" in my special occasion recipe box. Thanks.

I live in Chagrin Falls, Ohio a beautiful area with a waterfall in the middle of town. During the summer you avoid this area because the "conelickers" come to town. They come to town, go to the ice cream shop and go see the falls, therefore the "conelickers". I am a stay at home mom to a wonderful 16 year old daughter and a great 14 year old son. I have been very blessed. I am also trying to adopt a 4 yr. old little girl who is in foster care, and our social services in the county are awful, but we are fighting to get her. I am in charge of our neighborhood Gourmet Club. We have approximately 30 couples in the club. We meet 3-4 times a year and the recipes are usually theme related (chinese, mexican, bbq, Kentucky Derby, etc.) My passions are my kids, food and I love dogs. I have two dogs, both rescued. They are an american eskimo and a border collie. They are very high energy, but greatly loved.
