  1. I made changes in the recipe preparation so my stars are honestly for what I ended up with rather than the recipe. I used 1# of name brand breakfast sausage, 8 oz cheese, 2 cups of biscuit mix, and some milk. I rolled 24 golf ball size balls and flattened them slightly. The mixture is very stiff. It took twice as long to bake as indicated in the recipe. What I ended up with was a mild tasting, lightly browned ball. Both the cheese & sausage were there flavor wise, but I thought they could use something "extra". My DH liked them just fine. Next time I might add diced fresh jalapenos, green onions, or chives. To serve at a party I would roll much smaller & serve with a dipping sauce or if for a brunch with gravy. They are NOT greasy in the least. Made for Spring '09 Pick A Chef.
