  • Preheat oven to 190 deg Celsius then grease and paper line a swiss-roll tin.
  • Mix first 6 ingredients.
  • Add milk then fold in flour and sultanas.
  • Spread into tin so it is about 3/4 inch thick. Top with streusel.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes.
  • Streusel: Mix all dry ingredients then blend, with fingers, enough butter to form crumbs and small lumps.

  1. This recipe has a wonderful old-time taste to it. One thing that I would caution against, however: make sure that your ingredients are all at room temperature before you begin. This recipe did not state ingredient temperature, and I ended up having to blend the first six ingredients in the food processor just to get a nice, smooth texture. I also forgot to fold in the raisins, so instead I sprinkled currants over the dough in the pan and then sprinkled over the streusel. Thank you for sharing such a pleasant recipe.
