This recipe is good for a cold winters morning...Mmmm.
- 1⁄3 cup rolled oats
- 1⁄3 cup water
- 1⁄3 cup skim milk
- 1 tablespoon honey, for topping
- 1⁄3 cup skim milk, for topping as well
- Mix first three ingredients together in a pot and cook until thick.
- Place in a bowl and top with honey and skim milk.
Good old fashioned oatmeal porridge! There is nothing better on a cold winter morning!! I used 2/3 cup of water (no skim milk) and topped it with 1/4 cup of a low fat cream blend and brown sugar. Very yummy! I cooked the oatmeal in the microwave in my bowl for two minutes! Quick and easy!
I replaced the water with more milk & used semi skimmed instead of fully skimmed. When I'm next having a 'good' day I'll do it with water & skimmed milk! Lovely though, dead quick & easy.
