Pizza Sauce (Tomato)

This sauce is a copycat of Papa Johns. I use tomato paste for cost. This recipe makes enough for 6 pizzas. I freeze the rest in 1 1/4 cup servings in Ziploc bags. WWPP - 1

This was a really good piazza sauce. My husband's only complaint was that it was a little too watery. I am going to try again and maybe cook it just a little longer to see if it will thicken a bit more. The seasoning was good but I did add an extra Tbsp of Italian seasoning to flavor it up a little. It made a lot of sauce so I did freeze the leftovers. Will post how it tastes after freezing in a couple months. Made for PAC 2012.

  1. Combine ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.
