This is a wonderful appetizer. You may garnish it with parsley if desired.


  1. Slice the bread in half lengthwise.
  2. Spread both sides with pesto sauce.
  3. Top with sliced tomatoes.
  4. Sprinkle cheese on top.
  5. Please under heat until cheese melts and serve!

WOW! I used French bread (a fat loaf) for this recipe. It took about 1/3 cup pesto only need a THIN film as it's very flavourful. Classico is my fave brand. I used about 1 cup of shredded cheese and sprinkled with a little salt and pepper before broiling. I served it with salad...tasty and SO filling.
