Fresh Summer Peach Crisp

"I love the flavor of toasted oats...and combined with juicy peaches and cinnamon in a warm crisp, it's the ultimate comfort food. I have also made this recipe using half peaches and half apples...just as delicious!"

 1. This wasn't as great as I was expecting, sadly enough. It was good, but not great. For me, I'd rather just have the peach flavor and brown sugar. The cinnamon and nutmeg and honey were too overwhelming. If I make this again I'll add brown sugar to the peaches instead of honey and 1/2 the amounts of cinn and nutmeg.

 2. Tip: Boil peaches for a few seconds before peeling, and the peels will come right off. Also, I added extra oats to the topping and it was nice and crispy.

 3. it was ok. flavor of the entire thing was not sweet enough for me even tho i used 2/3 of a cup of brown sugar and my peaches were ripe. there was too much flour i think. most of my crust didn't even form until i put it under the broiler. sorry.

 4. This recipe was a hit with the family! I did put in a bit more oats in than asked. It's peach season and I had been looking for something besides pie for all my peaches. I took it to a family event and everyone loved it! I was asked for the recipe numerous times. I served it with ice cream.

 5. I made this for dessert tonight and we liked it but it didn't wow us. I felt the "crisp" part was too bland. If i make this again I will add more seasoning and brown sugar. Also, I will use brown sugar instead of honey, we just didn't care for the honey with the peaches. Thank you for sharing, it just wasn't for us.

 3. I made this with canned peaches and vanilla syrup instead of the honey. It was so good! Other than the above mentioned changes I made this recipe exactly as it's written. We ate it without ice cream or whipped cream, it was that good! I thought it might be too much crisp topping for just a 9 inch pan, but I loved the topping and was glad there was so much of it to eat. I ate it cold for breakfast this morning, and I liked it cold, too.

I'm a small animal veterinary technician working full time. In my spare (?) time I love to bake and cook. I have about 80 different cookbooks and I guess my favorite ones are those that involve CHOCOLATE!!

My biggest 'pet' peeve is people who treat their dogs and cats like disposable products...look after the health and well-being of your pets, PLEASE! After being a technician for 20 years, the emotional stress was getting too hard to handle. Putting an older pet to sleep after I'd watched them grow up over the years was something I could no longer do. I decided to look for a new job while I was still 40-something rather than wait 4 years when I was 50-something! Working with animals is in my blood however, so I could not give it up entirely.
