Oatmeal Beer Bread

"One nice thing about most beer breads is that they are quick. This one is no exception. The oatmeal gives it a "heartier" feel."

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease a 5x9 loaf pan.
  • Combine oats, flour, salt, sugar, baking powder, water and beer and put into the prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake for 30 minutes. Generously brush top of loaf with melted butter, reserving some for a second brushing.
  • Return to oven and bake for 30-40 minutes more until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Remove from the oven and brush with reserved butter.
  • Serve warm.

  1. Didn't know that it was too much baking soda. Two loads in trash what a waste
     
  2. This has the makings of a good recipe, but every time it says "tablespoon " it means "teaspoon". Additionally, the product is very very liquidy. I will have to see how it comes out to know if that was a good idea or not.
