My Meatloaf

I live alone and I like meatloaf, because you can add just about whatever you want to it...........I even added a box of macaroni and cheese (use only about half the noodles and I added another cup of sharp cheddar along with the cheese packet that came in the box) and it came out good.

This is an easy recipe and was tasty. I missed the little bit of tomato sauce I usually use, so would add that next time. I subbed ground turkey. I don't keep commercial seasoning salts around, so used a bit of all of the ingredients listed in a copycat recipe for the Monterey blend. I would add a bit more of the dried onion next time. Made for Fall 2011 PAC game.

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 12 lb hamburger meat (I'm poor so I use the cheap stuff)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 slice bread (yes it works) or 1 tablespoon of uncooked oatmeal (yes it works)
  • 2 -3 tablespoons mccormick grinders monterey steak seasoning and fresh ground black pepper (or whatever spices tickle your fancy)
  • 2 cloves of minced garlic or 3 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 1 -2 tablespoon milk

Directions

  1. Pre-Heat oven to 300 degrees F.
  2. Wash your hands.
  3. Add all ingredients to a bowl.
  4. Mix with your hands.
  5. Form into a loaf shape on a broiler pan (I have one sized for a toaster oven that I use).
  6. Cook for about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  7. Remove from oven and enjoy!
  8. Serve with veggies and a glass of milk.(or a beer!).
