A sweet and tangy salad dressing. You can adjust the amount of sugar if you are in the mood for something sweeter. My Mom loves to put this on her taco salad.
- 2 cups ketchup
- 1 1⁄2 cups sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 3 tablespoons vinegar
- 1 1⁄2 cups vegetable oil
- 1⁄2 cup minced red onion
- In a large bowl, whisk the ketchup, sugar, salt and vinegar until the sugar is dissolved.
- Whisk in the oil 1/2 c.
- at a time.
- MIx in onions.
- Serve on your favorite salad veggies.
- This makes a large quantity so refrigerate any unused portion.
- When you are ready to use it again, you may need to let it set out at room temperature for about 10 minutes and then whisk again before serving.
Elmo this was really good ..I used it over hard boiled eggs (halved) and my husband enjoyed it as he is crazy about eggs...have waited for almost 10 days to get some free time and thank you for this recipe !!
