1. I am not sure what a beef cutlet is so I used a thin top sirloin that I pounded to tenderize. I loved the flavors, tasted authentically German. The gravy was delicious - made me wish I had made some egg noodles as well. When my mother would make this recipe when I was young, she would use beef cube steaks (they are pre-tenderized by the butcher) and just the beef broth. My 11 yo daughter loved this as well, pickle and all. I really preferred your gravy. I think for next time, I will see if I can find these cube steaks around here.

 2. This is exactly how I made my rouladen and I love love love it! I usually use mustard powder, but I'm definitely going to try the dijon mustard! I brown my rouladen deglaze with stock, then pop it in the slow cooker to finish.

 3. Great easy to follow instructions! I'd been looking at Rouladen recipes for awhile and finally choose this one. Good Stuff! My wife thought it was just on the borderline of being a little salty. So, the next time, we decided that we'd use low-sodium bacon and cut back on the seasonings while prepping the rolls. I'm going to fix it for my mother when she visits at Christmas - now THAT should be the challenge.

I live with my husband, four cats, and a sweet mutt named Jada in Scarborough, Ontario, where I work as an elementary school administrative assistant. I have a 31 year old daughter who lives with her boyfriend in nearby Don Mills, along with my sweet granddogs, Frankie and Turbo. I would have to say that my passion is animals, since I have so many of them!

If I had a month off work to do what I please, I would first catch up on my sleep and then just have fun - see a few movies and maybe take a couple of short trips - something that wouldn't break the bank - lol!
