My friend has been making this garlicky appy in my honor since Xmas 2003. Posting yet another friend's tasty recipe for safekeeping. The fresh basil is a must.
- 10 roma tomatoes, deseeded & diced
- 5 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon dry basil
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon chili pepper
- Mix all together.
- Let sit for a few hours or overnite even better.
- Serve on toasted baguette slices.
The garlic was just too much for my open house guests Minnesota pallets.
This is a nice, tasty bruschetta, although I did cut back on the kick by reducing the amount of chili pepper by almost half! A great appetizer, but also a very nice snack! Thanks for posting the recipe! [Tagged, made & reviewed as part of my Yuletide theme in My-3-Chefs]
