Not your usual quiche. The crust is made of meat! Don't be scared over the amount of garlic in this recipe. It is wonderful and keeps the vampires at bay LOL!

This recipe does take a while to prepare - but the results are well worth the labour!! I also left out the chilies but only because my grocery store was out. Lots of flavour & interesting presentation. This isn't an every day dish since it is quite high in calories & fat. But, I cut the pie into 8 slices & one slice with some veggies was a very filling meal.

  1. Combine all crust ingredients and press into a 9 inch pie pan.
  2. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes.
  3. Remove from oven; set aside.
  4. For the filling, sauté garlic and onion in oil for 5 minutes.
  5. Combine the potatoes (reserving enough to make 1/2 cup mashed for the topping) and cheese with garlic and onion, chilies, salt and pepper.
  6. Mix well and spread over the beef crust.
  7. Combine all the topping ingredients and pour over the filling.
  8. Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes.
