Mayonnaise Cake

"My hubby always talks about his mom's mayo cake. I've never had such a cake before, in fact the only place I think about putting my mayo is on sammies and salads. Got this recipe from about.com. If you have other better than this one, please let me know!!"

ingredients

• 2 cups flour
• 1⁄2 cup cocoa
• 1 1⁄2 teaspoons baking soda
• 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup sugar
• 3⁄4 cup mayonnaise
• 1 cup water
• 1 teaspoon vanilla

directions

1. Sift together the flour, cocoa, soda and salt.
2. Cream together the sugar, mayonnaise, water and vanilla.
3. Add dry ingredients to the creamed mixture; stir until well blended.
4. Pour batter into greased and floured layer cake pans (or a 9- x 13-inch pan).
5. Bake at 350°F for about 25 minutes.
