    Directions:

      Cook pasta, and keep warm.

      In a medium saucepan, melt light cream cheese with milk. Bring to simmer until thickens slightly.

      Add basil. Add shrimp. Cover and cook until shrimp is starting to get a bit pink.

      Dice or julienne smoked salmon. Add to mix. Warm through.

      Add cooked pasta and stir in sauce.

      Add parmesan cheese. Serve hot.

      Hi Kiki-kins: I do this al the time. It is delish. If I don't have cream cheese i use light sour cream (Smart Balance has a terrific one out now). I also throw a few chopped veggies ( whatever I have in the fridge) into the pasta water for the last 4-5 mins of cooking (with the pasta). and I have veggies with it as well. I have also used this basic recipe with chicken or Italian sausage. don't forget the sauteed mushrooms and onions. Thanks for posting Judy in WA
