This is a good lemon cake and glaze that came from the "Sister" who was my husband's Sunday School Teacher for many years.
- Combine first six ingredients.
- Beat 5 minutes on medium speed.
- Pour into greased and floured 10 inch tube pan.
- Bake 350* for 1 hour.
- NOTES: Glaze: mix powdered sugar, butter and lemon juice well.
- Pour over hot cake.
I used a lemon cake mix and mistakenly used lemon pudding instead of lemon jello to prepared this cake. The dense cake had a sweet lemon flavor that was balanced well with the tartness of the glaze (which I prepared with only 1.5 cups of powdered sugar). This is a very pretty bundt cake that will stay moist for several days.
I made the glaze from this recipe and loved it! Mine had a wonderful tart flavor that went well with my pound cake. I'll definitely hang on to this recipe to use in the future. Thanks!
What a delicious cake! And the glaze was unbelievable! I did make one little addition...I added just a touch of fresh ground ginger to the glaze and it really brightened up the flavor. Although, I will try it next time without the ginger to see if it is just as good. My family liked this recipe so much, that I am getting requests for it again and again! I've submitted a photo!
