  • Put the tuna steaks into a large heavy-duty zip-top plastic bag.
  • In a small bowl, add the olive oil, thyme, salt, lemon peel, pepper, and lemon juice; stir to combine.
  • Pour mixture into the bag with the tuna.
  • Seal bag; turn bag to coat tuna.
  • Marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  • On a well greased grill rack, over medium heat, grill tuna steaks 6-7 minutes or until fish is firm but still pink on the inside and flakes easily; turn once during grilling.

  1. Worked fine for us - we marinated in tin foil then put the tin foil under the grill in the oven which kept it moist.
     
  2. So little work for so great a reward. Wonderful flavor and the perfect compliment to fresh tuna. Didn't and won't change a thing.
     
  3. Another great recipe. BF is not really fond of fresh tuna, so I thought I would dress it up a bit. He actually said he liked this recipe. Followed the directions and ingredients as they were listed. Turned out great. I may have overcooked it a little because it seemed quite dry. But I'll definitely make this one again.
