A recipe using StoveTop stuffing. I seem to favor those types of recipes for some reason. Always a filler for my brood. Also, I use corn in this one instead of the stated peas.
- 1 (16 ounce) package chicken stove top stuffing mix
- 1 (10 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
- 1⁄4 cup milk
- 1 (1 lb) package frozen meatballs
- 2 cups frozen peas
- 1 cup cheese, shredded
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Prepare stuffing mix as directed on package.
- Set aside.
- Combine soup and milk in a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- Stir in meatballs and peas.
- Sprinkle with cheese.
- Top with the prepared stuffing.
- Bake 20-25 minutes.
I cook often for my elderly parents and made this for their dinner. Both thought this was just delicious! I used Italian style meatballs, and corn bread stuffing mix, and since neither are big fans of peas or corn used fresh green beans. I also sprinkled french fried onions over the the stuffing before baking. Just great! A very easy week night meal. Thanks CB! I know I will be making this dish again! Made for Every Day is a Holiday.
I'm sorry but we realy like your recipe. Everything all went well together. Maybe it was the brand of meatballs I used? As for the vegi I chose to use can corn because that is what my DH likes. So glad I chose to try this.
This dish was just okay for us. The ease of preparation was nice however, the recipe itself left something to be desired. I made directly as stated..the dish was just sort of bland. Im not sure if that had something to do with the brand of frozen meatballs I used or not. If I make it again I may try to spice it up or maybe use a different brand of meatballs. Or maybe even add in some sour cream to the soup mixture to give it a little bit more of a tang. Im just not sure.
