Kielbasa Bavarian Skillet Dinner

"This is a family favorite. I got it off a rice bag many decades ago. Don't omit the caraway seed."

ingredients

• 1 lb kielbasa, sliced thin
• 1 tablespoon chopped onion (or more)
• 1 garlic clove, minced
• 1 cup sauerkraut, rinsed
• 2 cups water
• 1 cup rice, uncooked
• 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
• 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 tablespoon caraway seed
• 1⁄8 teaspoon pepper
• 1⁄8 nutmeg

directions

1. Brown kielbasa in large skillet.
2. add onion and garlic and sauté until limp.
3. stir in remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
4. cover and simmer 30 minutes, stir occasionally.
