  • Heat butter & oil.
  • Saute onions until limp.
  • Add pepper & garlic.
  • Stir 2 minutes.
  • Add rice & stir till rice is opaque.
  • Add remaining ingredients EXCEPT oysters.
  • Cover & bake at 350F for 35 minutes or until rice is plump & liquid has been absorbed.
  • Add oysters & let steam 10 minutes more.

  1. Recipe is good, but be careful of the spices: chili powder, paprika, and saffron are hard to balance. I'd recommend a little paprika, more saffron, and add the basil and chili at the end to make sure it's the way you like it. My tongue, at least, was baffled by the battle between paprika, basil, and saffron.
