ingredients
- 354.88 ml butter, melted
- 118.29 ml Tabasco sauce, plus
- 29.58 ml Tabasco sauce
- 44.37 ml light brown sugar
- 3.69 ml paprika
- 3.69 ml salt
- 14.79 ml balsamic vinegar
- 1.84 ml cayenne pepper
- 29.58 ml chili sauce
directions
- Simply mix all the ingredients together very well.
- Dunk, dip or soak your cooked wings in this sauce.
- For a change of pace, I will occasionally re-fry the wings after they've been sitting in the sauce, and then dunk them again once they've spent just a few seconds in the deep fryer, crisping up.
- Serve with ranch or bleu cheese dressing, or whatever you prefer.

As a regular Hooters customer who, in his lifetime, has consumed more than his share of their fine wings, I feel more than qualified to be able to compare this recipe to the taste of the actual Hooters sauce. While it comes close, it is not an exact copy. I will say, however, that is is very tasty and I will use it often for my tailgate and Sunday afternoon football parties. Bottom line: this sauce rocks!
