This is a wonderful dish. Your company will think you spent hours in the kitchen! Serve with baked rice, green beans and salad.

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Slice chicken in about 2 inch pieces. Put flour in bowl and add salt and pepper. In a 9 x 12 baking dish pour butter on one end of dish. Dredge chicken in flour mixture and then in butter. Place at opposite end of dish. Continue until all chicken is floured and buttered. Mix together soy sauce, lemon juice and honey. Set aside. Bake chicken for 30 minutes. Then baste every 10 minutes with honey mixture. Do this step twice. Total cook time is 1 hour.
  2. I like to make extra glaze to serve over baked rice.

The chicken turned out tender, but the flavor was really tooo lemony - even for me, and I put lemon in my tea and water. The chicken was still white and pasty looking after the first 30 minutes, so I turned on the broiler for about 12 minutes. Next time, and I will try again because this still seems like it should work, I will put garlic powder on the breasts with the salt, pepper and flour, dip in the butter and brown on top of the stove before continuing with the instructions. I will also cut the lemon juice to 1/4 and see if that works better. Thanks for the good idea; it just didn't work, as is, for us.

I made this for dinner for my family and absolutely loved it! I am not a fan of teriyaki, so I was a little nervous to try this. However I loved it! To me it was the perfect blend of tangy and sweet. I did however go with the previous post and basted it every 20 minutes. It was really great!

This recipe is amazing. I have had great success with this and have many requests! Only change I made was I cooked and basted every 20 min.
