This is a very rich and sweet pie, but a small piece goes a long way. We have this every Thanksgiving and Christmas and there is usually none left at the end of the day. The prep time will vary depending on whether you make your own crust or use store-bought. The time shown is when using store bought.
- 1⁄4 cup butter
- 2⁄3 cup dark brown sugar
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 3⁄4 cup dark corn syrup
- 3 eggs, well beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- Cream butter & sugar together until fluffy.
- Add next 4 ingredients and mix well.
- Line 9" pie plate with crust.
- Pour filling into crust.
- Bake at 350°F for 45 - 60 minutes or until crust is brown and filling is set.
