Cake
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1⁄2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1⁄2 cup chopped pecans
- 1⁄2 cup brown sugar

Topping
- 1 cup condensed milk
- 1⁄4 cup butter
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
directions
- Mix first 5 cake ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Pour into a 9/12 greased glass cake pan.
- Mix pecans and brown sugar and sprinkle over top of batter.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes at 350 degrees. Don't overbake.
- While cake is cooling, in heavy saucepan heat all topping ingredients to a rolling boil. Boil for 1 minute then pour over the top of cooled cake in cake pan. (This will look like a mess, but the cake soaks up the liquid and makes a frosting.).
- Store in refrigerator covered.
