  • Mix first 5 cake ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Pour into a 9/12 greased glass cake pan.
  • Mix pecans and brown sugar and sprinkle over top of batter.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes at 350 degrees. Don't overbake.
  • While cake is cooling, in heavy saucepan heat all topping ingredients to a rolling boil. Boil for 1 minute then pour over the top of cooled cake in cake pan. (This will look like a mess, but the cake soaks up the liquid and makes a frosting.).
  • Store in refrigerator covered.
