Grandma's Old Fashioned Coffee Cake

"This is another of our "southern" favorites. Grandma used to make this, we'd eat it warm with a little butter on top"

  1. Hi Lali! Just tried your Grandma's Old Fashioned Coffe Cake recipe and oh my stars, it's fantastic! What a wonderful chocolate flavor. Very easy to mix and quick from the oven to the table. We just ate it plain, but I guess a body could add butter or even frosting if they like. Mighty fine recipe, Girl. Thanks for sharing. Laudee C.

  2. Something is wrong with this recipe or with my following it. It seems there is way too much liquid with it. When I baked it for 30min at 350, it boiled over the edges, got hard on top and remained very liquid throughout. I had to toss it. Somehow the use of a cup of oil seemed way too much. I will not try this again. Sorry ):

  3. I don't know if I did something wrong but this cake, while edible, was just OK. I found it too moist and oily for my tastes. The batter was extremely thin, so I don't know if I messed up my measurements. Also the coffee flavour wasn't strong enough for my tastes. But it was a clear and easy recipe. Hope others have better luck!

  4. Tasty and Delectable! This recipe truly deserves more stars than can be given! Thank you Lali for such a delicious recipe!

  5. Utterly delicious, great flavour and simple to make. I also opted not to add frosting, didn't need it.
