From Pacific Northwest Salmon Cookbook "Big D's awesome sauce 'em. I have made this recipe in large batches, then put in small jars and put in the freezer. Then I can have small amounts in my fridge for whenever I need it.
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1⁄4 cup butter
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1⁄4 cup molasses
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1⁄4 cup honey
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- lemon juice
- garlic powder
- Saute onions in butter.
- Add rest of items and simmer for 15 minutes. Brush on top of salmon during barbeque or broiling.
This is wonderful. I will be trying it on chicken, pork chops and whatever else I can think of. It was really good on the veggies and rice we had with the salmon.
This was a fantastic glaze!!! It would be great with any seafood for sure! I want to keep it and try it on kabobs in the summer. Thank you so much for sharing! XO LA :-)
Leave it to a gal from Alaska to post this wonderful recipe for salmon. This stuff is just wonderful. Flavors are accentuated when you can grill the salmon on a cedar plank. I was glad to see this made quite a bit (almost 2 cups) so we will have this often and will also try it on some chicken or pork. Thanks for posting a great recipe that I was honored to make for PAC Spring 2008!
