ingredients
- 3 cups water
- 2 teaspoons anise seeds
- 1⁄2 teaspoon sugar
- 1 1⁄2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 teaspoons black tea
directions
- In a small saucepan, combine all ingredients, except tea, and bring to a boil. Allow to simmer for three minutes. Strain.
- Pour liquid into a tea pot and add the tea. Sit for 5 mins before serving.

Unfortunately I think I would only like this tea if I were not feeling well. Strangely enough, I was put off by the acidity of the lemon or maybe if I used less if would have tasted better (?). Or, perhaps a Meyer lemon would have worked better (?). Not horrible just didn't work for me. Sorry. Made for Exploring UAE and surrounding areas.

I love hot tea...and Stash's Licorice Spice herbal tea is one of my favorites. I also enjoy lemon and honey tea when sick. Since this tea recipe combines the two, it really sparked my interest however;I wasn't quite sure how well the flavors would meld together. I was very pleasantly surprised. All the flavors are quite mellow...you get a hint of each one with nothing overpowering the other. I will definitely be enjoying a cup of this tea often this winter. Oh, I did omit the sugar in the recipe, because I never use sugar in my tea otherwise it was made as directed. Thanks for posting this recipe Coasty. Recently relocated to Queensland, warmer seas for sailing and fishing. Aside from cooking for my family I do cake decorating (mainly wedding cakes) and recently unusual jams - adding spices and herb - and preserves and cheese making
